Understanding the Bible

Did Jesus really come in a human body, or only seem to?

He came in the flesh. Real body. Real death. Real rising. That is why His gift can reach real people.

The New Testament is not describing an idea of love. It is describing a man who ate, slept, suffered, and died.

John said every spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ come in the flesh is not from God. The incarnation is not optional doctrine. It is the way God met us.

Because He took on flesh, the gift is not abstract. Freedom is for this life and the next.

Verses

  • John 1:14The Word became flesh.
  • 1 John 4:2-3Jesus Christ come in the flesh.
  • Luke 24:39A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.
  • Hebrews 2:14He shared in flesh and blood.

A next step. Thank Him that God did not stay far off. He came near in a body like yours.
