Did Jesus come to set people free from sin, from the law, or both?
Jesus came to set captives free. Sin was the master. The law named the problem but could not cleanse it. His death is the gift that breaks both the wage of sin and the yoke of earning your way to God.

If I focus on not sinning, why do I still feel stuck?
What you stare at grows. Jesus did not come to give a better system for managing sin. He came to take sin off the throne, give you a new heart, and put the Spirit in its place.

What is abundant life?
Not a promise of riches or a painless path. Life filled with God — purpose, love, freedom, fruit, the kingdom.

Are Christians only called to attend church?
Attendance is the gathering point, not the calling. Believers are ambassadors — sent to represent the kingdom among neighbors.

Do angels stop appearing once someone has the Holy Spirit?
The pattern shifts. It does not stop. The Spirit takes the teaching role. Angels still show up for rescue, crisis, and direction.

Are Bar-Jesus and Elymas the same person?
Same man in Acts 13. Two names from different roots. Bar-Jesus means son of Joshua. Elymas is a title for a sorcerer — not a translation of Jesus.

Did Jesus command instant flawless performance in Matthew 5:48?
No. In context He is calling for complete love — the Father’s kind of love, even toward enemies.

Are the Beatitudes a checklist to earn blessing?
No. Jesus is announcing that God’s kingdom has not passed the poor, the mourning, and the meek by.

What is true circumcision in the New Testament?
Not a physical badge. Something God does in the heart — cutting away false securities so trust can live.

What does Paul mean by confidence in the flesh?
Trusting résumé, tribe, zeal, or religious performance as your standing — instead of Christ.

What does the parable of the talents teach about fear?
Fear can bury what God meant you to use. Faithfulness is use, not only preservation.

What does it mean that God is for us?
His posture toward His children is not hostile suspicion. The cross is the evidence.

Where did Moses already promise righteousness apart from the law?
Genesis 15:6. Abram believed God, and it was credited as righteousness — before the law and before circumcision. Grace was never Plan B.

What does it mean to guard your heart?
Watch what shapes your inner life. It does not mean building walls so nobody can reach you.

What does Jesus mean by ‘I never knew you’ in Matthew 7:23?
The shock is who gets turned away. Not the irreligious. The busy-at-church crowd doing impressive things in His name without the fruit of the Spirit.

He came in the flesh. Real body. Real death. Real rising. That is why His gift can reach real people.

Is Christianity supposed to produce joy?
Yes. Joy is fruit of the Spirit. Constant pleasant feelings are not promised. A system that only grows fear and shame should be examined.

If kindness makes a bitter person angrier, should I still be kind — and what does heaping coals on their head mean?
Kindness is a gift, not weakness. Give it. Do not throw your pearls to someone who will only grind them into slander. The coals verse is not revenge. It is good that can wake a conscience while you leave the result with God.

What is the kingdom of God — a place I go later, or a life I enter now?
The kingdom is God’s rule. Jesus said it is at hand. You enter it now by receiving Him, and it is not only a future location.

Is legalism the same as taking sin seriously?
No. Legalism tries to manufacture righteousness with rules, fear, and judgment. Grace takes sin seriously enough to need the Spirit.

How can Jesus say His burden is light?
Following Him can cost you. It is not the crushing weight of condemnation and religious performance.

If the heart is deceitful, why would Jesus tell me to follow what God put in me?
Jeremiah 17:9 names the old heart. Jesus gives a new one and puts His Spirit in you. The old warning is not a life sentence after the new birth.

If I still stumble, am I under condemnation?
In Christ there is no condemnation. The Spirit is not a new accuser. He leads you as a son, not as a defendant.

Is Christianity mainly about behaving better?
Changed behavior is fruit. The root is a new heart and the Spirit.

Did Jesus come mainly to keep us out of hell?
He rescues us from sin and death. His message was life, the Father, freedom, and the kingdom at hand — not death as the center of the faith.

Does following God mean playing it safe?
Not necessarily. Faith often moves before every outcome is known. Safety and faithfulness are not the same word.

Does Romans 1 let religious people condemn everybody else?
No. Paul describes humanity suppressing truth — then turns in Romans 2 on the religious judge. Everyone needs grace.

Is salvation something I earn by mourning my sin, or a gift I receive?
Salvation is a gift. Jesus paid the wage. You receive Him. Sorrow can follow love, but sorrow is not the price of admission.

Why does Proverbs push so hard to seek wisdom?
Because many ruined lives did not start as intentional evil. They started as foolish ways of seeing.

Why is serving other people so central?
Self-giving love is what life with God looks like. We become more alive as we give life away.

Why are Christians afraid to meditate on God — and how do I actually feel His love?
The Bible already tells us to meditate on God’s word. That is not emptying your mind. It is sitting with who God is until the heart catches up. Thoughts fade. Felt love stays.

What does it mean to take up your cross?
Not merely putting up with every hard day. It is surrendering self-centered life to join Christ’s self-giving way.

What is testimony?
Not only the day you first believed. Ongoing evidence of what God is doing now.

What does it actually mean to walk by the Spirit instead of keeping a religious list?
The Spirit leads you into love. A list can name good things. It cannot give you life. Freedom is for walking with God, not for ignoring Him.

What does it mean to be saved?
Salvation is bigger than a ticket to heaven. Jesus saves us from death and into life with God — now and forever.

What is biblical faith?
Not certainty that every plan will work. Confidence that God can be trusted with the outcome.

What is sin, really?
Wrong acts are real. Under them, sin is life curved toward self instead of toward God and others.

Help you know God and be changed — not collect verses as trophies.

Why do I do things I don’t actually want to do?
Paul named that war. Knowing is not power. The Spirit working in you is.

If God is good, why do bad things still happen?
Goodness is not a promise of a painless life. Suffering does not get to define God or finish the story.

Does the Bible tell me to work hard to prove I’m saved?
No. Philippians 2:12 says work out, not work for or work to prove. The gift is already yours. The working is the visible outworking of it.

Are good works required to earn salvation?
No. Works do not buy the gift. They grow from the life God put in you.
