Is legalism the same as taking sin seriously?
No. Legalism tries to manufacture righteousness with rules, fear, and judgment. Grace takes sin seriously enough to need the Spirit.
Grace does not say sin is nothing. Grace says the external law cannot finish the change we need.
Jesus was hardest on religious performance that crushed people and left the heart untouched.
Taking sin seriously looks like receiving the gift and walking by the Spirit — not building a heavier yoke.

A next step. Where you have used fear to stay clean, trade it for the Spirit’s leading.
