Does the Bible tell me to work hard to prove I’m saved?
No. Philippians 2:12 says work out, not work for or work to prove. The gift is already yours. The working is the visible outworking of it.
The NLT lands the sense: work hard to show the results of your salvation. The Greek means carry through to completion something you already have.
Verse 13 keeps the engine where it belongs: God is working in you, giving the desire and the power. Cooperation, not earning. Participation, not passivity.
‘Prove your salvation’ language usually comes from performance anxiety. Name that distortion. Fruit is evidence, not currency.
