Are the Beatitudes a checklist to earn blessing?
No. Jesus is announcing that God’s kingdom has not passed the poor, the mourning, and the meek by.
The world calls those people unfortunate. Jesus calls them blessed because God is acting among them.
Pain is not proof that God left.
The Beatitudes are announcement before they are assignment.
